    Description

    HEARTS (High-Energy Accelerators for Radiation Testing and Shielding) is a project funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe GA No 101082402, through the Space Work Programme of the European Commission. The project began on the 1st of January 2023 and will run for 4 years. Taking place both online and on-site at the Thales Alenia Space premises in Rome, Italy, the third annual meeting will bring together the 6 beneficiaries to discuss the scientific and technical achievements since the 2nd Annual Meeting in January 2025, as well as the plans for the last year of the project.

    The third annual meeting will consist of two half days dedicated to reports of the nine work packages and a visit of the TAS facility.

    The third annual meeting will also be merged together with the Period 2 Review Meeting where the project will be assessed by the EU Project Officers and external reviewers.

    The event is intended as both online and on-site.

    The meeting will take place at the Thales Alenia Space premises. On the first day, an identity check will be performed at the reception where an access badge will be given to participants.

    Monday April 27th, 2026:

    • Registration starting from 12.30 PM.
    • Introduction and WP Presentations - 1.30 PM to 6.00 PM (CET), Sala BTC.
    • Bus transfer to Space Smart Factory - 6.05 PM - 6.15 PM (CET)
    • Visit of Space Smart Factory - 6.15 - 7.05 PM (CET).
    • Dinner - Bus transfer from Space Smart Factory to restaurant at 7.05 PM.
    • Transfer planned back to TAS after the dinner.

    Tuesday April 28th, 2026:

    • Meeting at TAS reception at 9.45 AM to retrieve the access badge for the second day.
    • Visit at the Satellite Integration Center clean room - 10 AM to 1 PM, Via Tiburtina 1232, 00131, Rome, Italy.
    • Lunch at TAS main building - 1 PM to 2 PM
    • WP Presentations - 2 PM - 6 PM (CET), Sala Borgarelli.

          TAS Opening

          Enrico Zampolini is TAS's Vice President Domain Observation and Navigation Italy. He holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” An expert in remote sensing, deep space missions, and radar payloads, he has led flagship Italian and International programs, ensuring both technical excellence and the achievement of key milestones. His expertise encompasses program management, business development, and proposal preparation. He has a proven track record of securing major contracts with the European Space Agency, the Italian Space Agency, the European Commission, and international customers. He has also been actively involved in teaching in the “Master in Satelliti e Piattaforme Orbitanti” program at the University of Rome “La Sapienza.” He is the author of numerous technical and scientific publications on space radar technologies, design, performance, and end-to-end system verification and validation.
