QGP International Research Center Kick-off Symposium

In July 2025, the QGP International Research Center was newly established at the University of Tsukuba as an academic hub for interdisciplinary research.
The Center focuses on the study of the Quark–Gluon Plasma (QGP) —the primordial matter of the early universe—and aims to foster new academic frontiers and contribute to solving global challenges through collaboration across five interdisciplinary divisions:
- High-Temperature QCD Division
- High-Density QCD Division
- QCD Theory Division
- Next-Generation Quantum Semiconductor Detector Division
- Interdisciplinary and Societal Implementation Division
In addition to advancing leading-edge research in each field, the Center promotes the transfer of technologies developed in high-energy physics —such as quantum semiconductor sensors and high-speed data processing— to other domains. Through the fusion of physics, medicine, information science, and engineering, we aim to build a world-class research platform addressing global issues such as next-generation cancer therapy and nuclear fusion.
To commemorate the establishment of the Center, we are pleased to announce the Kickoff Symposium to be held as follows. We sincerely invite your participation and contributions.
