Description
In this talk, I will present the long-lived collider phenomenology of a model motivated by chaotic inflation.
We begin by reviewing the cosmic history of the universe and the arguments for inflationary theory, driven by the remarkable homogeneity and isotropy of the cosmic microwave background (CMB). We then discuss how the inflationary stage remains largely degenerate among many potential shapes and interactions, and the possibility of using particle physics to help narrow down the viable scenarios.
In this context, we study a specific Higgs-portal reheating potential, derive the effective vertex for gluon-gluon Fusion at tree-level, and forecast the exclusion region of this model at the Future Circular Collider (FCC). This illustrates how collider searches for dark sectors can provide a bridge to cosmology in our efforts to understand the cosmos.
