Description

Abstract

This presentation summarises the path toward the production of the octagonal beam screen for the HL-LHC. It focuses on the major manufacturing steps: tube forming, laser welding assembly, brazing, and large-scale robotic laser welding together with the process optimisation, tooling, and quality-control methods developed to produce this complex cryogenic component reliably at series scale. The talk highlights the challenges encountered, the solutions implemented in the new beam-screen production line, and the lessons learned on the way to stable, repeatable production.
