Present: Heba, Chilufya, Gopolang, Kétévi

Apologies: Mounia, Soeb

Salient points:

  1. Heba presented a draft poster, still at a preliminary stage. We suggested looking at the posters of the previous Dark Interactions workshops to make recommendations to the designer for improvements.
  2. Gopolang's postdoc will join the committee. Gopolang will send her name and email address for inclusion in the committee email list and poster.
  3. Gopolang will send the logo of the MacDonald Institute for the poster—he and his postdoc are also affiliated to that institute.
  4. Considering the difficulty in finding a time when most people can be available, we agreed to consider a time when a core of the organizers can always to be present on a bi-weekly basis. Mounia, Heba and Gopolang's postdoc will be in that core, with anyone else interested and available.
  5. We propose to meet again on January 15, 2026, at 17:00 CERN time. And from that point, every 2 weeks.
  6. In an interest to get more people into the core that should always to be available to carry on with the meeting, Mounia will send another doodle, and the time in 5) may change as a result.
  7.  For the meeting of January 15, everyone should send a list of suggested speakers within the topics that have been proposed. You will see the topics here. Gopolang will create a googledoc with a format to collect the suggestions for speakers. When that googledoc becomes available, please input your list of proposed speakers before January 15, 2026—inputing your list of speakers does not require a meeting.
  8. Soeb should look at the South African KIC grant applications to see if (South) African participants can apply for travel coverage. The 2026 call for applications are expected in early 2026.
  9. We need to know from Anne how much financial support we can ask of CERN and what is the procedure. Patricia had prepared a list of actions, including how registration fees will be estimated. You should look.
  10. We agreed that by February 2026, the poster and website for registration should be ready to release a first circular.

The idea behind it: there are (perhaps) 'dark' interactions that produce dark matter particles (which we cannot detect), making them invisible to the detector. But it can happen that these particles decay into 'normal' particles (electrons, protons, etc.) which are detected after traveling a certain distance (perhaps into another dimension). This is why the center of the collision is black, and the blue area indicates the transition between the visible and invisible dimensions.
