Abstract: Dark matter remains one of the most compelling indications of new physics beyond the Standard Model. In this talk, I will present theoretical frameworks accommodating dark matter candidates, focusing on their dark matter phenomenology. I will place particular emphasis on extended scalar sectors as portals to the dark sector and highlight their discovery prospects at current and proposed future experiments.
