The Functional Approach to Holography in Flat Space

In AdS/CFT, the path integral with specified boundary conditions plays an important role as the generating functional of boundary correlators. An analogous path integral may be defined in Minkowski space, where it serves as the generating functional of S-matrix elements. I will define this object and argue that it provides a useful framework for organizing observables and studying the symmetries (asymptotic or otherwise) of asymptotically flat spacetimes.
