Description
The seminar will start with an outline of the physics data taken by TOTEM in special LHC runs during 2010-2011. It will then concentrate on the analysis methods applied and the results obtained by the experiment. Proton-proton elastic scattering differential cross-section, as well as proton-proton total, inelastic and elastic cross-sections at sqrt(s)= 7 TeV, will be discussed. The results will be presented in a broader physics perspective ranging from the ISR, to the Tevatron,to cosmic ray experiments, as well as to other LHC experiments' results. Finally, perspectives for future TOTEM analyses and publications on diffractive physics channels will be discussed.
