Jenkins

  • Installed java 21 on more agents
    • Java 21 server can still connect to older java versions though
    • Java 25 also works
    • Gunter added java 25 to Geant4 windows nodes
  • After April release of Jenkins needs java 21
    • Affects macOS machines
  • Also needs to be installed on CVMFS agent machines

 

 

Geant4

  • issue with some view of the Geant4 external for macos, Gunter to open a ticket with the details
  • cvmfs available on macOS VMs?
    • Not yet available
    • kernel extensions are not implemented in parallels, but system extensions are supported, but fs-kit not yet working

CVMFS

  • something installed bits packages in alice cvmfs?

 

SPI

  • Plan of Work
    • Speed up use of cvmfs from cold caches? Things are slower than for Key4hep stack
      • Make the setup script static and not rely on runtime determination
    • Add tests for generators to make sure they run
    • User experience improvements of the stacks
    • MacOS 27 stack (September)
