Shielding towards GPS beam dump -> neutron impact and requirements
Hole towards IS-COOL and possible impact on radiation levels
Radiation from beam dumps (neutrons): between floor and beginning of the wall is the target area for this. Could a layer of lead be added? Or a mix of concrete and iron instead of the lead? Any chance to add shielding also inside Separator area to avoid crowding RILIS too much? -> Claudio will do simulations to check
RIB: assess risks for office area on top of GLM, but also consider contribution from GHM.
Possible mitigation measure: exclusion zones in case of specific collections.
Can use historic data for the “worst case scenario”.
Need from Vincent the distance between GHM collection point to the office area: 1.8 m. Distance between GLM and the floor of the office area: 1.5 m. -> Vincent will create simplified step file to make it easier for RP to measure distances
Note that the office area is a sas area: so in case of exclusion/limited time area, this can be respected.
10-cm concrete floor for the lab, but not for the office/sas area (for easy disassemble in the future).
Consider three worst case scenarios: for GLM, GHM, IS-COOL.
Hole for HV piping to IS-COOL with 20cm diameter: need to offset this a little from atop beam line? -> RP discusses internally and transmit decision
Reconvene in early February -> meeting on 4th of February, exact time and location will be determined
