Description

We are pleased to invite you to the Final HITRIplus Project Meeting, which will be held in person at CNAO in Pavia (Italy) on 18–19 March 2026.

This meeting will also serve as the Final Review Meeting of the project. The Reviewer and the Project Officer will attend in order to assess the overall implementation of the project, review the achieved results and deliverables, and discuss the project’s impact, sustainability, and lessons learned.

Given the strategic importance of this final review for the successful closure of HITRIplus, in-person participation is strongly encouraged, and we kindly request that at least one representative per beneficiary institution attends on site, whenever possible. Direct interaction with the Reviewer and the Project Officer will be essential to ensure an effective and constructive final assessment.

An online participation option will nevertheless be made available for those who are unable to attend in person. Connection details below:

Please find below detailed information regarding logistics and accommodation in Pavia.

How to reach Fondazione CNAO, located in Pavia:

From Milan airports (Linate, Malpensa, or Bergamo) to Pavia, you can travel by train or taxi. Taxi transfers from the airports are available but generally more expensive than public transport options.

If you choose the train, you can reach Pavia railway station from:

Milan Centrale or Milano Rogoredo (frequent regional and high-speed connections), Milan Malpensa Airport via the Malpensa Express to Milano Centrale or Milano Porta Garibaldi, then onward by train to Pavia.

Once at Pavia railway station, you can reach CNAO by taxi or local bus. Taxis are available directly outside the station, and the ride to CNAO usually takes about 10 minutes, with a cost of approximately 10–15 euros. If you prefer a taxi directly from the airport, this can be arranged in advance or taken on arrival. Travel time from Milan airports to CNAO is approximately 1–1.5 hours, depending on traffic.

Fondazione CNAO is located at Via E. Borloni 1, 27100 Pavia, Italy.

Depending on your hotel location, CNAO can be reached by taxi or public transport. Hotel receptions can always assist in calling a taxi if needed. Taxi fares within Pavia are generally modest.

For accommodation details, please refer to the document attached below. We have recommended a selection of options for your stay.

Please be informed that the whole Project Meeting will be filmed and photographed by our staff and authorized operators. The speakers' speeches, environment, and guests will be filmed for the purpose of reporting the days' work to the funding agencies and disseminating scientific and clinical knowledge in Hadrontherapy. Videos will be posted on YouTube with free access. We therefore ask for your consent to possibly film you in video, photos, and/or audio recording during the activities and to reproduce, disseminate and publish such footage, without limitation of time and without compensation. Denial of consent does not preclude participation in the workshop: our operators will take care, in such cases, to avoid frontal filming that would allow your identifiability by providing you with a no-photo area of the room. We remind you that, as provided by the GDPR, you can exercise your rights of access, withdrawal of consent and deletion of data by writing to privacy@cnao.it.  Moreover, our DPO is always available at dpo@cnao.it . Attendants and speakers’ Data Controller is Fondazione CNAO, via Emilio Borloni, 1 - 27100 PAVIA (IT)

If you have any concerns regarding this notice, please contact the organizers in advance.
