      With silicon photonics emerging as a promising technology for future optical readout systems in CERN detectors, the testing and packaging of individual components and assemblies are essential for achieving a thorough understanding and for the proper design of the overall system.
      This talk focuses on recent advances in photonics packaging and testing capabilities and results, followed by a brief outlook on future prospects.
