Description
In recent years, perturbative calculations have achieved an unprecedented level of precision, largely driven by the demands of high-accuracy data–theory comparisons in the LHC physics programme. Despite this progress, one key challenge remains on the critical path to precision: hadronisation.
Event shapes are an important class of observables that are strongly affected by hadronisation effects. The treatment of these effects is currently under active debate within the community, particularly in the context of strong coupling extractions.
In this talk, I will discuss the anomalous scaling of linear power corrections in linear event shapes. The associated anomalous dimension has been calculated analytically to all orders within a specific framework of kinematic recoil, leading to a remarkably simple and universal expression that holds even beyond the two-jet limit. These findings are supported by numerical studies within the PanScales framework, and show good agreement with Pythia8.
This work provides new insight into the analytic structure of hadronisation.
