ECOI group weekly
Room 42/1-018
Meeting's quick notes:
1) Chatbot: quick update on last week's progress (project owners are in vacation)
Claire followed all the steps suggested in Francisco's introduction slides
- Input files: all the PED "usual documents" are present, except for the EPJ+ focus. It dates back to 2022, but contains "overview" articles on detectors, online and offile software or theory that are less technical than the FS report and may help the chatbot with PED related questions [ https://www.epj.org/epjplus-news/2300-epj-focus-point-on-a-future-higgs-electroweak-factory-fcc-challenges-towards-discovery ]
- Collecting data on the most important/frequent questions: the chatbot was initially prepared for a very specific audience and context. Given that PED is not involved and has no acces to the materal prepared for the local "Debat Public" + that the CERN ECO group is in charge with the general public... ECOI can contribute on the "in-reach side", i.e. ask the guides, users and outreachers. Contacts will be taken in the coming weeks.
- New documents ? In this context, the "backgrounders" that were discussed in previous meetings could be replaced by a single FCC-PED-FAQ document, analog to the well known LHC- FAQ [ https://cds.cern.ch/record/2809109/files/CERN-Brochure-2021-004-Eng.pdf ]. Extra ECOI material will only be taken into account in June (new large scale training)
Christophe reminds us that, from a Theory perspective, the accuracy of the tool is crutial if we do not social-media to jump on it and have fun.
According to the plan presented by Francesco last week, PED coordinators will be contacted in May (18th to 29th). Given the very agressive deadlines, a round table (hackathon) of the people testing the tool in the various pillars would be desirable.
2) Web site: after the chatbot + Easter chocolate parenthesis, the web site is back to its top priority level
- The idea of a slideshow is endorsed. Armin simplies the discussion on "which image" by providing working examples based on the mid-term review: https://www.physik.uzh.ch/en/researcharea/fcc.html ; using https://cds.cern.ch/record/2888389 and https://twiki.cern.ch/twiki/bin/view/FCC/AerialView
- Feed-back from Catherine, who is developping the FCC-France web site: access to the PED web sites (both Drupal and wordpress) does not work with a service account. Claire will follow up.
- Armin reports on the recent ECR meeting: some of the talks given would be very good candidates for "online lectures". Claire volunteers the future students to design the font page and edit the videos
Last but not least: the CERN relay race will take place on MAY 7, not april 7 !!!! (hope our colleagues noticed our good wiil and early support, though)
