Description
This talk will discuss the problem of describing semileptonic decays into two final-state hadrons in a model-independent manner. After introducing the challenges, I will present a first complete parameterization of these decays and present results from a fit to B -> pi pi l nu data. Next, the opportunities to further our understanding of the hadron spectrum through targeted studies of angular spectra in semileptonic decays will be discussed and sensitivity estimates for the discovery of the D0*(2100) in B -> D pi l nu decays will be shown. Finally, the simulation of semileptonic decays beyond the narrow-width limit using EvtGen will be examined and point to the current shortcomings.
