In order to promote and celebrate World Quantum Day, on April 14, CESGA together with IGFAE-USC are organizing a Quantum Computing Masterclass aimed at raising awareness about the transformative power of this disruptive technology and fostering interest in this field.

Participants will have the opportunity to gain first-hand experience in the world of quantum computing and to use the Quantum Spain quantum computer hosted at the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. The session will be held in parallel at other centers of the Spanish Supercomputing Network, and a joint discussion will take place at the end.

We are organizing a morning session from 10:00 to 14:00 (CEST), open to interested participants, consisting of:

  • Outreach talks by researchers from different institutions explaining the fundamentals and the state of the art in quantum computing.

  • A guided visit to the center, including the QMIO quantum computer.

  • A hands-on session where a simple calculation will be performed using the quantum computers at CESGA and BSC.

  • A videoconference session to share and discuss the results of the practical activity with other centers running it simultaneously.

* The number of participants is limited by capacity. Final registration is subject to approval, which will be communicated on April 4.
