• Verification jobs have been failing recently
• Repack is over since 2026-03-13
  • Repack has currently 34 tape drives: how many repack drives should we keep in repack during run?
    • LTO8 tape drives stay on repack side not needed in production
    • 1-2 LTO9 + 1-2 TS1170 will stay on repack side for high priority repacks and the rest goes back in production
• GNI errors because of missing tape drives
  • Puppet failing on tape servers with no tape drives
    • We need to monitor if each registered tape drive is connected where it is supposed to be or gone missing (<preprod|prod>-<user|repack>)
    • GNI puppet failure is just noise...
• Communiy:
  • verification fix: branch to be created for the fix
  • allocating tape drives for some duties: collect use cases for discussion during te CTA WS

Tape infrastructure

• TS1160 drive firmware upgrade ongoing
• New Spectra library in b613 coming in 2026-H2
• Spectra Cube is SAS only for LTO10 longer tape drives, no air filter
• Starting to document the 4 options: IBM Diamondback, Spectra Cube, BDT, Quantum

Use cases

• ctaops-cli deployment feedback
• For basic feedback but this ticket has already many comments
• Initial focus on:
  • SDK objects and naming consistencies
  • Low level tools for tape operators
• Run gRPC frontend in preproduction
• Ongoing kerberos fixes, token fixes
