Description

HI-TREX is the next-generation silicon detector array for transfer-reaction studies at HIE-ISOLDE. Improved granularity, increased solid-angle coverage, modern ASIC-based readout electronics, and enhanced rate capability will significantly extend the experimental possibilities for charged-particle spectroscopy in combination with the MINIBALL $\gamma$-ray spectrometer.

This contribution will present the current status of the HI-TREX project, including detector development and commissioning, and conclude with an outlook on the broad physics opportunities that the HI-TREX-MINIBALL setup will provide for transfer-reaction studies with radioactive ion beams.
