Check that the tasks are ready for data taking (all aspects included, see list below) in the allocated test beam slot. In particular, the groups should show that
all hardware components are (or will be) in hand in due time,
that potential assembly steps and the functionality of the system have been at least tested and proven operational in laboratory or from previous beam tests,
that a trigger/DAQ system exists and has been tested in the lab or in previous beam tests
so that the available beam time can be optimally exploited
Help identify possible critical issues and possible mitigations, also by exploiting synergies with other tasks
Review Procedure
A review committee of 2-3 persons have been identified
Due to the short timeline and to ease participation, the reviews will be held on Zoom
Presentations by the task contacts or delegates should address all the following aspects:
Description of the proposed calorimeter
Aim of the test (physics measurement)
Connection to the milestones/deliverables (what is the impact on the M/D in case of no/unsuccessful TB?)
Estimated beam time to complete the physics programs
Readiness of the HW (calo + RO elx)
Readiness of the DAQ and online monitoring (sw)
Which DRDCalo software tools are being used?
Available person-power
Risk analysis and possible mitigations
After the review, the groups will receive a summary of the discussion, with an indication of aspects which are felt problematic and a list of action items as needed, hopefully within a week.
A follow-up on critical issues will be done by the technical board.
In case a group cannot fulfil the preparation for the data-taking, they are required to inform the Technical Board in due time, such that other groups in the DRDCalo may take advantage of the slot, before resigning the period to the SPS coordinator.
