(Guided) Networking - Minus the awkward
Celebrating 10 years of the Women in Technology Community at CERN, this special events series brings together a collection of hands-on workshops and conversations designed to support your growth, both professionally and personally.
From building confidence and visibility to navigating complex workplace dynamics, each session is an invitation to sharpen your skills, expand your network, and take ownership of your career journey.
No hovering by the door. No scanning the room, wondering who to approach. No polite-but-painful small talk.
Purpose This session is designed to take the awkwardness out of networking and bring people at CERN together in a way that feels natural, structured, and enjoyable.
Format The room will be arranged with two circles of chairs facing each other, and each seat will include a prompt to help guide the discussion. After a few minutes, we will guide a rotation so that everyone has the chance to meet someone new.
Takeaway You will not need to think of perfect conversation starters or worry about staying in one conversation for too long. By the end of the session, you will have spoken to a range of people across CERN and, hopefully, made a number of new connections.
