A short reminder of what we have spoken about on the post-LS3 neutrino program.
Our flagship program will be VLE-based measurements, while we will continue replica target measurements at 31 GeV/c and 120 GeV/c in the early 2030s (later in Run4) once they are ready for both Hyper-K and DUNE.

These are potential items so far, as of today. We consider the target position in front of VTPC1 (as in our current configuration) to be the best. For all measurements, dE/dx-based PID is crucial for pi/K/p separation as well.

      • Hyper-K replica: p+Hyper-K replica at 31 GeV/c, two MF settings (20 GeV and 158 GeV), acceptance required 0-360 mrad (we achieved this with T2K replica target data 2010)

--> some worry, it might not be compatible with VTPC2-only configuration!

      • DUNE replica: p+DUNE replica at 120 GeV/c, two MF settings (80 GeV and 158 GeV), acceptance required 0-360 mrad

--> a big worry, it might not be compatible with VTPC2-only configuration!

      • VLE-based measurements: p/pi/K beams on various thin targets (C,Al,Fe, H2O) at 2-15 GeV/c, acceptance required 0-360 mrad

--> it probably works with the VTPC2-only configuration (except kaon beams, becoming longer the distance from the low-E secondary production target to the NA61 thin target means harder for kaon beam!)

We need a careful simulation-based assessment.
