Cross-cutting Methods: Detector Simulation & Fast Inference Working Group

Description

The goal of this meeting is to bring together researchers and contributors interested in the development and application of machine learning methods for fast detector simulation and inference within the EuCAIF Foundation Models initiative. In this first meeting, we aim to:

  • introduce participants and their areas of expertise,
  • map the landscape of ongoing efforts, simulation frameworks, and benchmarking tools,
  • discuss computational challenges in replacing or accelerating traditional Monte Carlo detector simulations,
  • and identify priority use cases and concrete next steps for collaborative work.

The meeting is intended to foster cross-experiment collaboration, establish a shared understanding of the state-of-the-art in ML-based simulation and fast inference techniques, and define an initial roadmap for coordinated development efforts.
