Friendly meeting to exchange some rockets and nails, like we did in the 90's!
There will be two independent tournaments with separate servers, running concurrently: Retro and Modern. The difference lies in the hardware used for playing:
- Retro: We will provide a Pentium-class desktop PC (at least 20 years old) with a rolling-ball mouse, keyboard and possibly a CRT display. This tournament will use the original 1996 release of Quake. Choose this option if you want the authentic ’90s LAN party experience. If you would like to bring your own hardware, please contact us.
- Modern: Bring a laptop (no restrictions) and a mouse. We will play Quakespasm, a modern cross-platform Quake engine that runs easily on contemporary computers. I recommend this option if you care more about competitive play.
The tournament bracket will be prepared a few days before the event, as it depends on the number of players.
