Description
The purpose of this TB is to review the current state of SoC developments in BI and to compare the architectural choices made across ongoing projects, particularly with respect to register access, hardware abstraction layers, and the allocation of functionality between these layers and the FESA class.
As a starting point, CEM will present its plans for SoC support and the associated software-layer architecture. BI-SW will then present the proposed EDGE wrapper and extender layers and discuss their intended roles and responsibilities. Subsequently, the current implementations in two example projects and the motivations behind the chosen approaches will be reviewed and compared.
