1 Streamlining the Radiation Test Workflow through Automation and CI/CD

The radiation test service of the EPR section handles hundreds of tests each year to ensure proper radiation qualification of systems before installation in the LHC tunnel. The scale of the service introduces challenges across the phases of development, preparation, execution, and tracking, making it prone to human error and slow execution. In this talk, we present the workflow we implemented to address these challenges. Built around automation and GitLab CI/CD, the workflow standardises the development process of FPGA design, automates test design preparation, and ease the tracking of radiation test experiments. The result is a streamlined approach that reduces manual operations to essential, eliminates repetitive tasks, speeds up test preparation, and shortens the time to test, ensuring a smooth and reliable operation of the service.
