From private communication with Matthias Mentink (ALLEGRO solenoid):

Indeed, when considering 3 T instead of 2 T, the cold mass become
substantially thicker (+200 mm, so just under 300 mm not considering
modular flanges) and the combined envelope for the cold mass, thermal
shields, insertion gaps etc increases by the same amount (+200 mm), so
600 mm in total.
