      Electromagnetic Object Reconstruction in MAIA 1h

      A 10 TeV muon collider is a pivotal next step in exploring the energy and precision frontier; enabling access to the Higgs trilinear coupling and the multi-TeV mass scale. While this is an exciting possibility, there are demanding challenges that need to be resolved before a muon collider can be considered feasible. An essential step in this R&D process is running robust simulations for potential detector designs and ensuring signal events can be efficiently reconstructed in this high energy environment. This talk will focus on the MAIA (Muon Accelerator Instrumented Apparatus) detector concept for a 10 TeV muon collider, designed for precision studies of the standard model as well as searches for new physics. We will be discussing the reconstruction software utilized by MAIA, Pandora Particle Flow Algorithm (PFA), and the requirements for using this software. Our Pandora setup was not designed with MAIA in mind, and as such incorrectly reconstructs energy in a muon collider environment due to the high energy and our detector geometry. Our work focuses on optimizing Pandora for MAIA, specifically on photon and electron interactions in the electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL), and how we can optimize their reconstruction.
