OSAR Table

  • Carlo reviewed the OSAR table prepared with Michela for the current CERN complex. As for the FCC-ee case, the table includes the device owner/contact, the person responsible for the impedance evaluation, and the current status.

  • He also reviewed the devices that are scheduled for upcoming impedance measurements.

ECRs

Removal of the prototype EO BPM from the SPS during LS3

  • The proposed modification is considered acceptable from an impedance perspective.

  • However, the impedance geometry is not optimized. Similar non-optimized transitions should therefore be avoided where possible, and their proliferation should be limited, as their cumulative broadband and resonant contributions could become non-negligible.

In-situ carbon coating of the Inner Triplet at LHC Points 2 and 8

  • Nicolas presented the findings and main conclusions.

  • The impact on both longitudinal and transverse impedance is negligible.

  • Overall, the impact of the full BST scope during LS3, covering the two ECRs mentioned above, is estimated to be <0.5% for the longitudinal impedance and <0.2% for the transverse impedance.

    • Comments:
    • Hermann asks how the impedance was computed , if it was IW2D and Nicolas confirms saying that it takes seconds to perform the computations
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.
