Machine related activities in the experimental hall 10mSpeakers: Erwin Siesling (CERN), Simon Mataguez (CERN)
Compressed air cut Wednesday Sept for 3hrs: time 8 - 11h - (Alexandre Fournier)
- Transparent, normally no impact
- VSC, BI and Cryo informed: No impact expected.
Request Bernard Crepieux: Nr of He gasbottles at ISOLDE (ISCOOL) on his name?
- Action Erwin/Miguel
Overhead crane PR214 preventive maintenance Friday-morning 09/09 8h30-12h
- Will take place on the SAS tranpsport side and the crane access platform. No impact on visits.
Platform EPC:
- Reception of the 400 cables to be done (status?). Due to non-available resources this will not be finsihed before wk 38 (14 Sept) - final handover and dossier.
- With the RILIS rerouting of the vacuum tubes starting end Nov till May 2027 the time for HWC and tests by OP will be limited.
REX/HIE ISOLDE:- REX/HIE LINAC:
- On the list: replacement prim. pumps CMs, backing & roughing lines - Oct/Nov (after LHC LS high peak work).
- Ongoing: Modification of the chamber of the XL9GP Quad (last in REX LINAC before CM1/DBox) (N. Thaus TE/VSC).
- The XL9GP Quad does not need to be taken out if the new chamber can be welded in situ and modifs (info N. Thaus & A. Newborough), The Quad was refurbished in 2015.
- Modifications on the existing classified as contaminated vacuum chamber to be done in 109: No availability of the tooling for the moment: Schedule wise ok with the chamber to be back in the machine only next summer latest.
- Additional NEG pump is to be added onto the XLN2 DBox: After re-installation end of '27.
- Replacement of the 9 GAP structure vacuum seal to be scheduled with RF, transport and vacuum: This will require a sector opening of the REX/HIE tunnel roof to allow crane acces to lift the 9 GAP cover. - REX Low E development:
- Replacement of the leaking REX mass slits actuator for a bellow type one - actions in the direction of a remotely controlled version have been taken. Christoph Mitifiot has been contacted and a meeting is se for 14/09 to see in situ to discuss options and the integration of the equipment (PLC controller, etc.) (Fredrik Wenander) - Work on the REXTRAP innner structure planned to start in October (J. Schoonwater), surrounding work permitting (coordination with the RILIS team ongoing). Request for workspace in 179 to finalize next week when L. Lambert will be back (L. Lambert, V. Berlin, F. Wenander, J. Schoonwater)
- BI work in the allocated test bench zone (between XT02 and 03) is starting. For the dismounting of the various D-Boxes for calibrations and modifications MSC (Antony Newborough) has been asked to disconnect the DC, water and WIC connections of the 13 D-Boxes in question.
Separator zones HRS & GPS:

Fiber Optics work:- 2nd phase of the White Rabbit fiber optics installation (N. Simic) postponed to 14/06/27 - 25/06/27
IT cable work:
- Wk 41 (05/10) installation work is forseen of IT cables for the deployment of the radiation monitor system in the PUMA area. Cables will be crossing over the (beam) entrance side of the REX/HIE tunnel for which a cherrypicker is foreseen (Lucas Correia IT/FCS)
- Still valid: Remark from the IT/FCS section: please collect any possible future IT cable requests using the same routing to optimise the availability of the team and equipment for the existing cabe request.

Experiments related activities in the experimental hall 5mSpeaker: Erwin Siesling (CERN)
ISOLTRAP:
- Finilazing the platforms and walls as well as re-installation of infrastructure and equipment is ongoing (A. Jaries)
- Emergency ladder on the mezzanine side is in place. Advice J.Devine is to eventually move the cable/tubes tray down - to be investigated.
COLLAPS/CRIS platform:
- COLARIS platform integration well advanced (Vincent Barozier, Liss Vazues Rodriguez, Kara Lynch)
- Proposal to reuse some of the 80x80 concrete blocks (with side re-enforcing plates) to construct a single pillar to hold the experiements laser mirror boxes. Integration and feasibility being studied (V. Barozier, M, Guinchard, J. Devine).
- The AC units in the laser labs will be connected to the existing chilled water. In a first stage the circuit towards RILIS will be changed to a larger diameter and in a second stage the tubing towards the laser cabins will be installed. The first stage will be scheduled for the beginning of '27 in coordination with the RILIS project. Budgets for the equipment and different stages will/have been allocated.
- Existing concrete pillars and walkway to be removed towards the end of '26 - to be discussed with Y. Seraphin.
- Timeline COLARIS platform: CE design and quotation by the end of the summer, ECR ready by the end of the year, start platform construction Jan '27
Beamlines:
- RC6/RL7 installation work continuing
- Cabling work in the RC6/RL7 area has finished (J. Allamandy). Reception to be done + dossier handover to EPC (wk 38)
- EN/EL AC cable work was supposed to start end of Aug wk33/34 however due to illness within EN/EL this has been postponed - Difficult to reschedule due to LS3 work elsewhere by the contractor. Effort will be made to have the same contractor to install the AC cables. With budget availability in mind the work needs to be done within '27. EN/EL is looking into a solution.
- IT cabling for the PUMA related radiation monitoring system foreseen wk 41.
- New PUMA RP monitor at the end of RC6 will be a permanent installation where as the monitor next to the PUMA solenoid will be a portable unit taken in account the number and duration of the short periods the PUMA setup will be in place each year (RP, TC, Miniball team)
IDS:
- In the frame of the upcoming 228Ac test at IDS a solution was found in routing the exhaust gasses outside the hall. The old obsolete XT03 temporary (flamable) gas line tube has been rolled back towards IDS and the missing 20m will be added to reach the IDS setup (O. Fjeld). Tube expected to be fully installed by next week. RP (N. Conan) approved.
- Request from the IDS team (James Cubis) to have some long existing issues at the IDS beamline addressed during LS3:
- the rigidity of the beamline support before their chamber
- a standard DBox in their line (replacing the non-standard one)
- a thorough fix of the ISOLDE PAM readout electronics used for their in-chamber FC
Above has been briefly discussed and is to be seen with resources within the BI team.
