From 1D to 3D Hadron Structure with lattice QCD simulations

The light-cone definition of parton distribution functions (PDFs) precludes their direct determination in Euclidean lattice QCD. This presentation explores the pseudo-PDF approach, which accesses parton structure through equal-time hadronic matrix elements of spatially separated quark and antiquark fields. Central to this framework are Ioffe-time distributions, related to PDFs by a Fourier transform between the momentum fraction x and the Ioffe time ν. We present lattice results for the proton’s twist-2 quark and gluon PDFs, with particular emphasis on systematic uncertainties. We then turn to generalized parton distributions (GPDs), presenting results for their reconstruction in x-space and their moments across a broad range of kinematics.
