3rd UNDARK School: Galactic probes of dark matter and fundamental physics

This is the 3rd UNDARK School, to be held at DESY Hamburg, 15–19 March 2027.
UNDARK Scientific Schools are week-long events aimed at equipping PhD students in astroparticle physics with theoretical, phenomenological and numerical tools at the forefront of the field. The 3rd UNDARK School will focus on galaxy dynamics—broadly defined—as a probe of dark matter and fundamental physics.

- Supermassive black holes — Stefan Gillessen
- Galaxy strong lensing — Simon Birrer
- Galaxy formation simulations — Arianna Di Cintio
- Theoretical perspectives — Yonit Hochberg
Each lecturer will also provide an overview of recent and upcoming observational developments in their respective sub-field.
No fee will be charged to participants. A maximum of 30 students will be accepted. Lunches and informal after-hours drinks will be included.
Depending on available funding, a limited number of travel grants may be awarded to students.
The UNDARK consortium is led by the IAC, in partnership with CERN, IFAE, WIS and LAPTh.
UNDARK's first school was organized by IFAE and held at the Benasque Science Center (Benasque, Spain) from 9 to 15 March 2025.
UNDARK's second school was organized by LAPTh and held at the Campus du CNRS (Annecy, France) from 9 to 13 March 2026.
