This one-slide diagram maps the data exchanges among CERN space-management databases and the teams that manage them. It was prepared by E. Reguero (FAP) and Y. Robert (SCE).
Its central system is Foundation, managed through Gesloc by Space Managers. It consolidates core space information: person, room, surface, destination/use, responsible person, organisational unit and secondary address.
Main exchanges shown:
- Oracle HR ↔ Foundation: employee, contract percentage and room data. DAO/GAO User Office (Pie/PAD): associated with Oracle HR.
- Roles ↔ Foundation: role data, managed by DSOs.
- Locations ↔ Foundation: detailed location and occupancy information, including surface, destination, use, responsible person, organisational unit, number of workplaces and temporary leases. Managed by DSM and DSO.
- GIS: managed by the GIS team through ArcGIS; receives building data from Foundation and sends spatial/location data to Locations.
- Indico: receives person and room information from Foundation, for Burotel users.
- Other business-continuity systems such as BAAN, EDH and Qualiac: receive information from Foundation.
The legend distinguishes:
Red text: data entered in the relevant system.
White text: data received from another system.
Green labels: responsible role/application.
Blue cylinders: databases or tools.
Overall, the chart presents Foundation/Gesloc as the master coordination hub between HR, roles, GIS, locations and downstream tools. Its main limitation is that it does not specify data ownership, update frequency, interface type, or which source prevails where the same field exists in several systems.
