Impact on control changes during start of long shutdown on SM18 magnet testing

Following our discussion last November, we would like to continue the annual meeting to review and discuss changes to control systems that may affect magnet testing activities in SM18.

This year’s meeting, during which we will focus in particular on changes to command and communication interfaces, including the commands and parameters used to operate the converters, and any potential implications for our test operations.

As our operations rely on converters and other control systems immediately after the Christmas holidays, while the accelerator complex remains in shutdown and LS3 upgrades, it is essential that we review any relevant changes in advance. This will help us anticipate potential issues, ensure a smooth restart of operations, and minimize the risk of downtime in the SM18 test facility.
