      Round table 1h
Speakers: Dr Andrew Cheek, Chiara Arina (CP3 UCLouvain), Daniele Massaro (CERN), Gian Marco Lucchetti (INFN, UNIBO), Dr Jan Heisig (Université catholique de Louvain (UCL)), Mattia Di Mauro (INFN Torino)

Summary: The team reviewed MadDM’s new indirect-detection features implemented by Mattia: antiproton upper bounds, Galactic Center excess fits, and predicted anti-deuteron events for AMS and GAPS. Users can select density profiles, propagation setups, and calculation options [37:04–40:12].

The group agreed to keep the release focused and use the precomputed PPPC cosmic-ray fluxes for now, rather than extending Dragon or adding full propagation control before the paper; more advanced options can come later [46:12–50:59].

A key follow-up is ensuring direct and indirect detection use consistent halo assumptions—especially local dark-matter density and velocity distributions. The team discussed using RAPID for shared velocity integrations and parameters [52:29–58:45]. Mattia will check a possible factor-of-two issue in the Galactic Center calculation, then push his branch; Gian Marco will help check consistency across detection modes [59:02–59:51; 1:10:22–1:11:12].

Gian Marco reported porting direct-electron detection into RAPID, adding examples and tests, and expanding support for electron-scattering operators. The team also discussed a future MadDM Python package/API, but treated that as a later improvement [1:13:00–1:17:24; 1:03:51–1:08:21].

      Next steps

      • Mattia: finalize and push the indirect-detection branch; investigate the Galactic Center normalization issue, look at velocity integrals implementation in MadDM.

      • Gian Marco: check halo/velocity consistency and review the direct-detection updates; share a progress update next week.

      • Andrew: review the code updates.

      • Team: complete checks, merge the work, and move toward writing the paper [1:10:22–1:11:32; 1:24:16–1:24:28].
