Description
In 2006, the Linac2, PS Booster and ISOLDE facilities will be re-started from the
CCC. While these machines have been running in 2005, and no major hardware changes
are planned for the 2005/2006 shutdown, the main challenge will be the full remote
operation without the possibility of quick local interventions by the operator. As
for the Linac2 and PSB, work has been done to identify and upgrade equipment that is
not compatible with this way of running. Concerning the ISOLDE facility, operation
will be similar to previous years relying very much on local interventions and direct
contact to the users. The main changes of operation from the CCC will be highlighted
and a tentative planning for the start-up will be presented.
