I argue that the observed flavour mixings in the quark and lepton sector can be
constructed from a small number of textures - the elements of flavour. The
elements explaining the first two generation flavour physics are related to the
golden ratio. Consequently the solar neutrino and the Cabibbo mixing angles are
not arbitrary and can be predicted with high accuracy. The final KamLAND and SNO
results (expected to be releared this summer) may prove/disprove this scenario.
