Model building with F-theory

I'll begin by giving an overview of the basic local F-theory GUT model building paradigm before addressing questions relevant to globally consistent realizations of these. The main emphasis of the talk will be on extracting generic features of this class of string models, and at the end I will discuss potential LHC signature of some benchmark models.
