Description
A Large Ion Collider Experiment (ALICE) is designed to explore the physics of strongly interacting matter under the extreme conditions of high energy density at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC), including the creation and study of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) { a state of matter whose existence is predicted by Quantum Chromodynamics. After close to 20 years of preparation, ALICE has taken data from pp collisions at energies of 0.7, 2.76, and 7 TeV since 2009. This talk will focus an overview of recent results from ALICE, using both pp and PbPb collisions, will be presented together with the detector's current status and performance.
