Major work for EUMEDGRID WP2
----------------------------------------------------------------
The major effort for the EUMEDGRID WP2 has been carried out by writing,
editing and revising the Deliverable 2.2. The document is now almost
ready and a full first draft has been submitted to the WP2 and WP3
on July, 28th. A final draft will be submitted for review on August 4th.
Completed: Introduction, ToC, References, Purpose of the Document,
Application Area and Executive summary
Chapters 1, 3
Appendix A
Missing: Chapter 2, sections 1 and 2, whose responsible is INFN
and some contribution (7 NGIs factsheets) for Chapter 4,
which have to be provided by 7 partner countries.
Major work for EUMEDGRID WP3

A SAM (System Availability Monitoring) tutorial, given at CERN/IT
by Piotr Nyczyk, started on July 18th.
The main attendees were EELA, EUCHINA, EUMEDGRID and BALTIGRID
CERN people.
Minutes has been taken and put on indico at the URL:

Alexandre Duarte set up a TWiki page on SAM installation available at:
http://goc.grid.sinica.edu.tw/gocwiki/Installation_Manual
Together with the training course, it has been set up a Linux (SLC3)
machine (namely lxb6114.cern.ch for EUMEDGRID) and an Oracle account
to test the SAM installation, configuration and day-by-day use.
Major work for LCG Testing; major changes in workplan
----------------------------------------------------------------
The contribution to the testing and certification activities is
still suspended, to concentrate all the efforts to the SAM training and
the Deliverable 2.2 writing, editing and coordination activities.
This decision has been taken in agreement with Florida Estrella
and Markus Schulz.

Attended the EUMEDGRID (User and Administrator) Tutorial
held in Istanbul, Technical University from Monday July 3rd 2006
to Friday July 07th 2006.

During that tutorial I gave two lectures as tutor:
- The GENIUS Grid Portal
- Hands on Genius
Plans to attend/organize major events (intra-EGEE and others)

- Participation to the EELA conference (where I am invited to give a talk
about a sonification package I developed when I was working at the Univ.
of Salerno, Italy and which has been officially taken as one of the regional
applications for the EELA project) and Tutorial (where I am going
to participate as tutor, giving six tutorial lectures), to be held
in Santiago (Chile) from September 4th to 7th.
- Participation to the EUMEDGRID Tutorial (September 11th-13th,
where I am going to participate as tutor), Project Meeting (September 14th).
Conference (September 15th), to be held in Rome, University of Roma3.
