Description

Spectra of identified charged hadrons measured in pPb collisions at the LHC at $sqrt{s_{NN}} = 5 $TeV are presented. Charged pions, kaons, and protons in the transverse-momentum range p_T = 0.1-1.7 GeV/c and for central rapidities are identified via their energy loss in the CMS silicon tracker. The average p_T increases rapidly with the mass of the hadron and the charged-particle multiplicity of the event. The fully corrected transverse momentum spectra and integrated yields are compared to pp data at various collision energies and to several Monte Carlo event generators.
