Description
The Brookhaven AGS provided 24GeV protons for various high energy physics experiments. Up to 7*10^13 protons are slowly extracted. There were significant space charge effects at the injection of AGS and its Booster. Several methods were used to mitigate the space charge effect, such as tune control, raise AGS injection energy, and reducing peak current. The beam losses along the ramp was also reduced to achieve high intensity beam. Coffee / tea will be served after the seminar. ATS Seminars Organisers: H. Burkhardt (BE), S. Sgobba (EN), G.
