Description

Belle II is a high-luminosity B physics experiment being built at the SuperKEKB B factory in Japan. Until the planned beginning of data taking in 2016, we aim to provide developers with a stable and user-friendly environment for implementing detector simulation, reconstruction and analysis software. A new software framework, the Belle Analysis Software Framework 2 (basf2) is under continuing development. To this effect, we use many different ROOT components, including I/O, PyROOT, TGeo and Eve. Our experiences during development will be discussed, as well as our hopes for ROOT6.
