Weekly meeting for ETICS team working at CERN Date: 2007-09-27 Participants: Lorenzo, Alberto, Guillermo, Marian, Marc-Elian, Tomasz, Carlos, Announcements: - Carlos presenting his work during C5 9:30, Testing CREAM BES from OMII-Europe using ETICS. - EGEE-07, from Monday to Friday, poster + stand needed, beamer available, use group laptop (Danica will use Carlos computer). - Organize an ETICS training during EGEE JR1 all-hands meeting at the end of October (24th Wednesday) – exploring, practically explaining submitted user-cases. Consider organizing a session for complete beginner day before. - Questionnaire for the ETICS community to provide a feedback about the system has been announced by INFN (due to requirements from a management). Controversial: we have to discuss the results before making them public, we store requestors private data (name, e-mail) while questionnaire supposed to be anonymous. WP2/Marian - Release today: WS-1.2.5 (private resources fix), new (old) web-application (private release, multiplatform selections, IPv6 support). Deployed yesterday at etics-test. - Cross-side submission in production since 2 days, CERN->UW, INFN->UW works (checked). - Southampton ETICS installation not in use (not available outside, people from OMII are using our installation). - Root enabled submission in progress: match-making done, work to be done in the Condor and Metronom side. Better to invest time in VM solution, but there are some problems like: licensing, stopping the VM in Condor. Consider moving VM setup into etics-client. Client would start VM, VM will auto-magically start std. etics-client with proper parameters that will execute submitted user’s build. Lorenzo expressed doubts if the selected approach is indeed the simplest and fastest to implement solution. - Match-making for IPv6 deployed at etics-test. - Co-scheduling to be discussed with Meb. WP3/Guillermo - Versioning range done in WS side. Must be implementing in client – Guillermo already explain new feature to CLI and web-client people. - Discussion about semantic for WS method returning configuration matching the version range: exception if more than one configuration found or none configuration can be found. - Working on script to update data-base for a new model for dynamic dependencies property (replace <module-name>.DEFAULT by <module-id>.DEFAULT). - Working on updating locking in WS (for instance: cloning). - Suggestion: as soon as possible we should install WS with locking and start testing it. WP4/Alberto - Danica work will be assigned to WP4. - Problems with creating meta-package for UI components due to error (?) in components implementation. - JUnit plugin will be integrated week after the EGEE conference. WP5/Meb - Add new metrics into ETICS build report. - Find a generic way for adding new metrics that should be stored in the repository. - Paolo working on a new layout with existing functionality. Deploy in parallel in production as soon as possible. - Priority for new features in web-client: locking, versioning range, co-scheduling. WP5/Lorenzo - Add a metric success/failure. - Discussion if storing last 7 days in volatile is enough. People want to have "last successful build". 7 days is more than enough for configurations build several times per day. If configuration is build once per week it is too short period. One of the workaround is to store last 100 builds for every particular configuration. Definitely we cannot store everything. - Discussion if we should store success/fail for every component from a project/subsystem build? - Chart is ready: requested new features, should be ready week after EGEE-07. - Discussion if it possible to have a chart included into a build report. It would be better to have a static link from a report to a web-application that will draw a chart for built component – the link would open a char form with profiled values. - Discussion: after having a chart, user should have a possibility to change the values used to generate that chart (so he/she doesn’t have to fill the whole from 0). - Tree almost done. In couple of weeks we will have repository web-application working. WP5/Tomasz - MyETICS->Request new external component implemented, will be installed on etics-test and announced inside a project. - Next feature to work on: MyETICS->List user jobs. Should be ready in 2 weeks. - Fix all problems we found in ETICS during GridSphere integration. - Agree on time for the next ETICS workshop for OMII-Europe – send an e-mail to OMII-Europe management with a question which date do they suggest for that.
