Description
In the framework of Quantum Field Theory, the Standard Model gauge bosons,
the Higgs bosons as well as the quarks and leptons can all be unified using extra
dimensions and supersymmetry. After a brief review of the theoretical and experimental
implications of the existence of extra dimensions, I will present a simple model in which
such an unification is achieved, and its phenomenological implications. I will further
discuss how the existence of the three chiral families of the quarks and leptons can also
be understood in this framework.
