A 15UD Pelletron Accelerator is the central facility of the Centre and has been running smoothly since 1991, providing a multitude of ion beams to the users maintaining a very high up-time of >95%. Over the years several new accelerator systems have been added and are all in operation currently. These include a superconducting Linac Booster for the Pelletron based on superconducting Nb cavity resonators. A Low Energy Ion Beam Facility(LEIBF) has been in operation using a 10 GHz Nanogan ECR source mounted on a high voltage deck for generating multiply charged ion beams in energy range 50 keV to a few MeV. A 1.7 MV Pelletron equipped with a RBS and channeling facility has been serving the users for past two years. A high current injector consisting of an High Temperature Superconducting ECR Ion Source followed by Radio Frequency Quadrupole (RFQ), a Drift Tube Linac and low velocity (low beta) resonant cavities is under development.
An overview of these developments with special emphasis on the in-house development of superconducting cavities will be presented in this talk.
Coffee / tea will be served after the seminar in the salle 'Pas Perdus'
