Description
After the discovery of Higgs boson at 125-126GeV, Higgs self-coupling measurement is drawing interests in both experimental and theoretical communities. This is one of the core physics programmes at HL-LHC, but very challenging in both experiment and theory. We want to have an informal discussion to kick off the activity in LHC Higgs XS WG to make some progress during this summer. We want to discuss,
  1. which channels to explore as benchmark, ex. HH→bbγγ, bbττ etc.,
  2. new ideas on analysis methods, ex. interference effect in kinematical variables, boosted Higgs regime, HH+jets, etc.,
  3. strategy for common tool developments in various channels in gg→HH/ttHH, qq→qqHH/WHH/ZHH, MSSM h/H/A/H± pair production, ex. (N)LO MC with HPAIR, MadGraph5 etc.,
  4. possible ECFA HL-LHC+LHCHXSWG joint workshop on Higgs self-coupling this winter.
The meeting is covered by talks on ECFA HL-LHC study schedule and summary on recent theoretical progress in Higgs self-coupling phenomenology. Most of time should be spent for discussions on how to proceed with participations from EXP+TH.
