Leptonic decays of W and Z bosons offer important signatures for measurements. Final state effects such as QED bremsstrahlung and tau decays have to be studied together with the detector response.
It will be argued that without precision loss theoretical predictions for final state effects can be separated from the complete ones. Discussion of theoretical uncertainties for measurements like: tau polarization in W decay or phi^* (p_T of Z bosons) require development of special techniques and tools. Examples using TAUOLA and PHOTOS Monte Carlo programs will be shown.
