* Multiple site notification. Presented by Helmut
The submission form will be similar to the TEAM ticket, with protection. Initially, only the alarmers will be able to submit this type of tickets, and there will be a confirmation window before the tickets will be created. There will be no link between the tickets, and the standard GGUS search form will be used to look for these tickets.
This functionality will be available on a test instance already before the end of February, aiming at putting it in production in the release of March.
Once we have the basic functionality in place, and after getting more experience with it, we can think on adding extra features (like the possibility to select all the sites that support a particular experiment).
* GGUS xGUS merge. Presented by Helmut
The frontends of GGUS and xGUS will be combined in the release of February. Some features that are hardly ever used will be removed (see the savannah ticket for more details). Also, the LHCOPN support unit will disappear.
Maarten: Would it be possible to increase the size of the 'detailed description window'?
Helmut: The bottom corner of that field has already a resize button. Now that there will be less fields, we could also increase the default size
Joel: Would it be possible to increase the 4kb limit per entry?
Helmut: At the moment, that's the size that we have defined in the DB. For bigger things, we can use attachments
Pablo: or split into multiple comments
Joel: Those options are not very practical. The error message could already be more than the 4kb
* Savannah to JIRA. Presented by Pablo
This forum decided that the migrations from savannah to jira will be handled independently by each community. For the GGUS shopping list, there were several issues, and Pablo wanted to know if other people are having the same issues. In particular, the cross-references between one ticket and a comment, and to a file are broken. Those cross references are important when the tickets are long. If the tracker only has short tickets, they are not that useful. For the particular tracker of the GGUS shopping list, where the tickets tend to be very long, this item has been blocking the migration. In order to proceed, and not getting stuck on this, it might be better to count our losses, accept that the cross references will not work and fix the rest of the issues.
