Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (16/04/2014 11:02)
The are active plumbers plumbering.
Even as we speak
Kashif did close the old one.
There's a discussion about SLURM for VOs in the multicore TF this week
I shall link slides...
https://indico.cern.ch/event/305623/contribution/0/material/slides/0.pdf
(On the SLURM thing: my understanding is that the "traditional" approach to doing VOs for Grid stuff is to have 1 partition per fairshare group/VO ?)
Ewan: (11:11 AM)
yes thats how we have it in our development but arc will not allow/complains about overlapping queues
and where arc says queues read some horrid concoction of queues and subclusters
Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (11:12 AM)
Hm
That looks like the ARC internal model of queues is not well suited to SLURM
Ewan: (11:13 AM)
yeah thats my thoughts... it is only a warning but I've yet to experiment as the wms still wont submit on our development queue
I'm an RA so if you ever need me to look at something I can
Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (11:14 AM)
Where have you tested submission to ARC? Locally, I assume?
Would you like me to have a go from glasgow?
Ewan: (11:15 AM)
locally and with the scotgrid vo via the wms... if you want to test it your more than welcome. It would be good to see some output
Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (11:15 AM)
The need for output was what I was thinking of.
the WMS is not particularly helpful in telling you why it is sad with a CE
If you chuck me your test script for submitting to the ARC, I can have a go from a suitably ARC-Client'd service here.
Ewan: (11:21 AM)
ok you should be able to send any job to it using the glite tools with a voms-proxy-init -r --voms
Samuel Cadellin Skipsey: (11:27 AM)
On that note, the Machines Instrumentation TF would love to talk to a site with SLURM.
Ewan: (11:28 AM)
we already get it from the nordugrid repo
