Odyssey

  • Opportunistic
  • Some problems with nodes - 10k jobs, a number failed due to lack of resources. Inability to fork processes.  Will put it into AC as optional resource target.
  • Harinder: would be willing to test.  Working on an exotic di-jet analysis, based on RootCore, a common framework, by PAT.

CVMFS Options

  • See slides
  • Have not heard from Niall.  Were attempting to deploy nfsCVMFS via Lustre.
  • "Portable CVMFS" option.  But there is a problem; hard-coded mount points /cvmfs.  Have been in touch with Asoka - might be able to work through this.
    • Another option: use pre, post-jobs, and modules.
    • Will continue to push Wayne (ICC) on getting a module.  Also integrate in the glidein.
  • Potentially use chroot?  root access required?
  • Containers again?  Maybe we go through.
  • Parrot: some successful testig with 4.2rc2.
